Spill the Tea: Earnest Confessions- Week 1

Have you ever had to keep something hush-hush?

Maybe you backed into a car in a parking lot and drove away, or stole your sister’s snack and blamed it on the dog. The ladies and gentlemen in The Importance of Being Earnest know all about secret keeping. Jack has a secret life in town, Algernon pretends to be Ernest in the country, and Miss Prism keeps a secret big enough to shake up the whole play!

Mina Kawahara (Gwendolen) is a not-so-secret snack…and she likes them too!

What secret did you keep under wraps?

My salt and vinegar chip addiction.

Why did you decide to keep it?

Shame.

What happened when you finally revealed it?

Freedom. And some people lost their respect for me. I earned it back, though.

Meg Jones (ASM) divulges a secret that’s finger lickin’ good

What secret did you keep under wraps?

One Thanksgiving while I was a kid, my grandma and I went to the kitchen to grab the rest of the dressing. The cat had jumped on the counter and had been eating it. We swatted her down, my grandma smoothed over the dressing and whispered, ‘Don’t tell anyone!’

Why did you decide to keep it?

I loved my grandma.

What happened when you finally revealed it?

Ya’ll are the first to know! 😉

Mary Lyon (Cecily) tells all about charm bracelets and chicken pox…

What secret did you keep under wraps?

When I was seven my sister and I had a bracelet we would both “borrow” from one another. My sister somehow always ended up with it. When my sister came down with chicken pox my parents told me to stay away from her and not go in her room. But I snuck into her room and into her bed and took that bracelet back!

Why did you decide to keep it?

Sibling rivalry…

What happened when you finally revealed it?

I didn’t reveal it, it revealed itself when I contracted chicken pox.
