2020-2021 Season Audition Dates

We are pleased to announce auditions for our first production opportunity of this academic year, BAKKHAI VARIATIONS.

As you may know, our department commissioned five playwrights (alums of our program) to create work in response to Anne Carson’s BAKKHAI.  These five short plays will be rehearsed, recorded and publicly streamed in full compliance with Villanova University health and safety guidelines. Rehearsals will begin shortly after casting is finalized, with recording to take place in the second half of September and early October.  Plays will be released in a rolling fashion beginning October 16.

The plays, in order of release to the public, are:

"She Makes Knives Now" by Mark Costello (to be directed by James Ijames)

Auditions for the project will be held on Sunday  August 23rd beginning at 7:00pm, via Zoom.  Those auditioning are asked to prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue. Callbacks will be held on Monday August 24th beginning at 8:00 pm, also via Zoom.  Callbacks will consist of sides from the plays.
