Ty Furman

Dr. Ty Furman MA (’96) is a nationally recognized, progressive leader in arts in higher education. Furman currently serves as the Director of the Williams Center for the Arts at Lafayette College, serving previously as Managing Director of the BU Arts Initiative, a position he has held since it was created in 2012. A collaborative and innovative leader, Furman has developed a series of programs and services at Boston University that includes artist residencies, the award winning BU Global Music Festival, and a series of grants funding arts programming and research. Prior to Boston University, he served the University of Pennsylvania for 15 years during which he was responsible for creating the Platt Student Performing Arts House. He holds a BU from Juniata College and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Management from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.
