Scenic Charge
SHARRI JERUE has been working at Villanova Theatre since 2013. Every year Sharri has workshops to encourage different types of mediums. Some workshops have been mold making, masks, sewing, embossing, painting replication, and faux finishes. Her prop shop works as a community encouraging knowledge and growing and enhancing life skills.
Sharri graduated from Towson University with a theatre degree in Theatre Arts and Scenic Design. In 2004, Sharri was awarded an apprenticeship in scenic painting at the Walnut Street Theatre, where she first fell in love with Philadelphia. She has painted and propped shows as a professional scenic painter and properties artisan up and down the east coast. She worked at the national and regional level for companies including: Trinity Repertory Company, in Providence RI, Maine State Theatre, and Ogunquit Theatre Playhouse, in Maine, Boston Opera Company, in Boston, and Surflight Theatre, The Wilma Theater, Azuka Theatre, Amaryllis Theatre Company and Lantern Theater Company. For five seasons, Sharri was the scenic charge, and for one season she was both the Props Master and Scenic Charge at Delaware Theatre Company. She also taught stagecraft and play writing at for three years at the DTC “Summer On Stage” program. She was also an active member of Totally Awesome Players, a group dedicated to working with actors who have cognitive disabilities. Sharri also served as a board member for The Da Vinci Art Alliance.
